I'm Brandie Carlos (She/Her/Ella), I'm born and raised in East Los Angeles, California. I'm a Millennial First Gen Latina with strong Gen X influence (Thanks, Tia's!). I'm proud to share, my first business was selling Mexican candy out of my backpack in first grade. Business was my first love. Since then I've created multiple businesses from scratch, been featured in Oprah magazine, and created Therapy for Latinx the first National Mental Health Directory for the Latinx community. The top questions people have for me are "How do I start an online business?", "What tech stack should I use?", "How do I hit six and seven figures in my business?". Most people don’t know that I love recreating restaurant recipes at home with a gluten free twist, have an addiction to Architectural Digest, collecting books (545 and counting), & taking road trips all over Southern California. I grew up in the 90's and all the Black and Brown people I knew were employees for someone else, hard working, and often struggling to make ends meet no matter how many hours they put in at work. In building a business and a brand it was important to me to see BIPOC become business owners, industry leaders, and shake things up. It was about creating platforms for people who were never voiceless (I don't believe there's such a thing) but people who just didn't have access to a platform to use their voice. For me, this work is about disrupting industries and breaking stereotypes.
